SIX MEN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH DECEMBER 2022 CRIME SPREE THROUGHOUT NEW JERSEY

For Immediate Release: August 3, 2023 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of TYSEAN WARE (DOB: 1/08/2003; single; unemployed), currently incarcerated at Morris County Jail; DAVID CURETON (DOB: 2/02/2003; single; unemployed), currently incarcerated at Monmouth County Jail; OLAJAWAN DAVIS-FLEMING (DOB: 2/17/1996; single; unemployed) of 783 South 12th Street, Newark, NJ; KHYREE LAWRENCE (DOB: 12/02/2003; single; unemployed) of 26 Eaton Place, East Orange, NJ; SHAQUAN WHITE (DOB: 10/20/2002; single; unemployed) of 74 South 13th Street, Newark, NJ; and ALI HALL (DOB: 10/28/2001; single; unemployed) currently incarcerated at Essex County Jail, on charges of burglary, theft, attempted burglary, weapons offenses, receiving stolen property, terroristic threats, and conspiracy. The arrests are the result of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

On December 25, 2022, the Alpine Police Department received a report that a BMW SUV had been stolen from a residence. This SUV was then determined to have been involved in additional crimes including attempted burglaries in Cresskill, Montville, and Rumson, NJ.

During the early morning hours of December 27, 2022, Alpine Police received a 911 call reporting there were unknown males on the first floor of a residence while the homeowners were upstairs. Police responded as the actors were fleeing the home in a Mercedes Benz that was stolen out of New York. This vehicle was subsequently determined to have been used in an attempted burglary on the prior evening in Old Tappan, NJ.

An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad identified TYSEAN WARE, DAVID CURETON, OLAJAWAN DAVIS-FLEMING, KHYREE LAWRENCE, SHAQUAN WHITE, and ALI HALL as suspects.

On Wednesday, August 2, 2023, BCPO detectives executed search warrants and arrest warrants in Newark and East Orange, NJ. Three of the defendants were arrested without incident. The remaining three defendants were served complaint warrants at the correctional facilities in which they are presently detained.

TYSEAN WARE and DAVID CURETON were each charged with second-degree armed burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2; second-degree theft, N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3a; three counts of second-degree receiving stolen property, N.J.S.A. 2C:20-7; third-degree theft, N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3a; five counts of third-degree burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2; six counts of third-degree attempted burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:5-1(a)(1)/2C:18-2; two counts of third-degree terroristic threats, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-3A; and a disorderly persons offense of theft, N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3a.

OLAJAWON DAVIS-FLEMING was charged with second-degree theft, N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3a; two counts of third-degree burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2; third-degree theft, N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3a; and third-degree attempted burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:5-2(a)(1)/2C:18-2.

KHYREE LAWRENCE and DAVID CURETON were each charged with second- degree armed burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2; second-degree receiving stolen property, N.J.S.A. 2C:20-7; second-degree conspiracy to commit armed burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:5-2(a)(1)/2C:18-2; four counts of third-degree burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2; third-degree attempted burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:5-1(a)(1)/2C:18-2; third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4d; fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5d; and a disorderly persons offense of theft, N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3a.

ALI HALL was charged with third-degree receiving stolen property, N.J.S.A. 2C:20-7.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
