May 25, 2024

The singer said she feels like “the Luckiest Star in the world!”

A month after Madonna was hospitalized for a bacterial infection, the “Material Girl” singer is celebrating her recovery the only way she knows how: with a bathroom dance session, of course. In a recent Instagram, the 64-year-old bopped before her bathtub to her 1983 hit “Lucky Star” wearing a mesh, corseted top, long hair, and reflective sunglasses.

“To be able to move my body and dance just a little bit makes me feel like the Luckiest Star in the world!” she captioned the post. “Thank you to all of my fans and friends! You must be my lucky stars too! And Happy 40th Birthday to my very. First Album- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.”

Fans were so happy to see the queen of pop on the mend. “You look so great! It’s so good to see you looking so fit & healthy!” one person commented. “The Queen is back ! ✨✨✨ so happy to see you well again! ♥️♥️♥️” another added. “So happy for you!!” someone else wrote.

On June 28, Madonna’s long-time manager, Guy Oseary, revealed to the public in a statement that she was admitted to the ICU for a “several day” stay after developing a “serious” bacterial infection on June 24.

On July 10, Madonna shared a statement that thanked fans for their support, noting that she was “on the road to recovery.” The statement also officially postponed the North American leg of her upcoming Celebration tour, which is now set to begin in Europe in October.

In a more recent post, she reflected on the severity of her situation and shared gratitude for her children, who cared for her in a time of need. “One month out of the hospital and I can reflect,” she wrote. “When the chips were down my children really showed up for me. I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference.”

She continued, adding that she feels lucky to be alive as someone who has lost many friends and fellow entertainers. “Thank you to all my angels who protected me and let me Stay to finish doing my work! ♥️” she concluded.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, bacterial infections are any illness that develops due to an overgrowth of bacteria or toxins. They can affect the skin, heart, lungs, and brain and are usually treated with antibiotics. Common types of bacterial infections include urinary tract infections, food poisoning, sinus infections, and sexually transmitted infections, among others.

We’re so glad to see the star feeling better, and can’t wait to see what she posts next!
